In Portsoy itself the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival, which takes place annually,  has put the town on the map. It lasts for a full weekend with the harbour and surrounding areas alive with marquees and activities during the day, and traditional music events in the evenings There is something for everyone.  Portknockie is a cliff top village established in the 17th Century overlooking a natural harbour and the remains of an iron age fort, which  has been discovered close by the sea front. The Bow Fiddle Rock, just off the headland ,is a popular tourist attraction and commands a stunning view. Portnockie Cottage is located yards from a fabulous view of Bow Fiddle Rock  and the stunning Moray Coastline.
